A dark man appears around the corner
He said, “Son, do you have a quarter?
Because I have a deal for you
Let me in and I’ll make you anew
I’ll take away the pain and all of your sorrow
Wake up and it’ll be tomorrow
You’ll forget all about me, man
And all you’ll lose is that quarter in your hand.”

“Come on in. COME ON IN I SAID!
For a lousy quarter, you can control my head
Do you want more? Because I’ll give you a hundred dollars
If you could clean me up and get me out of this squaller
Take away my pain, my heartache, my past
And I’ll give you my soul.”

… He grinned from ear to ear
And exclaimed, “We’ll be friends for the rest of your years!
I’ll make you forget about all who came before me.
Only one needle is the key.
One try and I guarantee you’ll want more.”
After that night, that one needle quickly turned into the next 364.
