The rewarding, yet unsettling truth of American education as told through a collection of ten true free-verse poems. The unsettling pieces are meant to shed light on how we can improve education in our country. The rewarding poems show why so many humans dedicate their lives to education. Others were crafted to give a shoutout to our amazing teachers. These ten poems were collected to give everyone a glimpse of the life of a teacher.

Get all A’s
Graduate Summa Cum Laude
Learn to be an expert interviewee
Craft a perfect resume
But every entry-level job requires experience

Get denied but try again
Become a substitute teacher for the time being
Little pay, little respect
Grind and land and a full-time position at a school in the inner city
