3 Important Steps Towards a Year of Change and Success
How I’m using my 27th birthday to change my approach to life
When I turned 26, I was searching for my meaning of success and what I want it to look like. Over the course of that year, Covid raged on, I witnessed the anguish in my students when they lost a classmate, my first child was born, and most recently, my parents lost their home.
These events caused me to reshape my idea of success and how I am going to approach my life moving forward.
As I write this, I’m one day removed from turning 27. I am using the opportunity to change how I view productivity, learn how to put growth at the center of all I do, and surround myself with love.
Productivity Doesn’t Automatically Equate to Success
One of my biggest realizations in the past year is that statement above. I spent the past year creating large to-do lists just for the satisfaction of checking off boxes. I thought I had actionable steps towards reaching my goals. I didn’t.
My problem was that I created goals that were so big that they seemed unattainable in the constraints that I would place on myself. Not just that, I tried to accomplish everything at one time. I’d either burn myself out or psyche…
